Notes to editors
The Centre of England Arts was founded in 2010 for the education and delight of people who enjoy learning and want to know more about the techniques of art. It is a non-profit-making company and a registered charity.
The courses and classes are not accredited but specifically aimed for personal pleasure and self-advancement.
Julie Hyde had a successful career in engineering and gave it up to follow her passion to teach art. Mostly self-taught in art, she is the founder of the Centre of England Arts and runs several classes a week, giving structured classes in drawing and watercolours with step-by-step instruction, demonstrations and practical work.
The Centre of England Arts runs weekly classes, one-off workshops and summer classes for children. It holds regular exhibitions and special events. A wide variety of painting and drawing techniques are taught as well as appliqué, stained glass, enamelling, quilting and jewellery making.
